From Passionable Fishing, our Japanese-language journal.

I made a 20 g Moving Sinker from brass, joining two 10 g brass sinkers, one above the other.

The whole shape is streamlined, so it casts well. Attach the terminal rig to the end with the clip.

For example: clip → swivel → leader → single jighead rig. That is the basic arrangement.

The one on Yahoo Auctions is 20 g, intended for very long casts. Using the same construction to make a 4–7 g version would be quite practical in fast water such as Tsūjishima—provided the horse mackerel are there, of course.

It could work across from Nogama as well. Again, if the fish are there. Both places used to be extraordinary. Apparently there have been plenty of small horse mackerel this year, so perhaps next year…

These rods can cast it:

  • BlueCurrent 85 TZ/NANO All-Range — lure 3–21 g; PE #0.4–1.
  • BlueCurrent 93 TZ/NANO All-Range — lure 3–21 g; PE #0.4–1.

For still greater sensitivity, I would look to the LUXXE EG X S89ML-solid.
