On arrival

The VARIVAS TFL-63S had caught my attention, so I bought one.

I had not used it yet.

Soon… I would take it out.

After several outings

I subsequently used it a number of times.

For me, it was easily outperformed by VARIVAS’s own 610S, with its extraordinary sensitivity. In this series, I found the longer rod better.

There were also far too many rivals around this length, described in my notes as “6.3 ft”.

I already had an Evergreen 63 and a 34 HSR-63 Version 3. Of those three, the VARIVAS came third in my assessment of their performance.

The original was published on 14 June 2021 and updated on 23 November. Its arrival note and later impressions are separated here. The source’s “6.3 ft” notation is retained.
