I bought three sizes of Real Dtex. Looking at them, my first thought was: thin! And that crisp feel was impressive.
I put this PE line on the following setups, each with a Tatula reel.
Where I used each size
- PE #0.3: Yoihime Ten 610, with a metal jig of around 10 g plus a soft-lure rig.
- PE #0.4: the original 34 HSR-610. Its tip-guide opening is slightly larger than that of the Version 2 that was current when I wrote this.
- PE #0.5: LUXXE EG X 89, used for very long-range ajing. It is originally an eging rod, intended for squid fishing.
My impressions
- Strength: excellent.
- Body and firmness: excellent.
- Crispness: excellent.
- Thinness: very thin indeed—excellent.
- Visibility: only fair.
Visibility was the only aspect that lost marks. Everything else felt deserving of a double circle—the Japanese mark for an excellent result.
My conclusion: this would be my PE line for ajing.
In my assessment, the #0.5 had strength comparable to other PE lines in the #0.6 class, so I felt it would also suit eging.
