From Passionable Fishing, our Japanese-language journal.

I have acquired a 34 PSR-60 The Next Stage. Very late to the party, I know.

I took a rather roundabout route, trying all sorts of ajing rods. Yet as soon as I finally picked this one up, I understood: perhaps this would do very nicely.

How it bends

My measurements gave a tip diameter of 0.75 mm and a solid-tip section 40 cm long. The rod bends well into the belly.

The butt is fairly firm, but the curve flowing into the belly is smooth. This is a very good rod.

The stated lure-weight range is 0.3–1.8 g, though I wonder… perhaps it could go to around 2.5 g? That is my thought, rather than the stated rating.

I compared it with the UBR-510 and found myself thinking, “Hmm, I see…” There were quite a few things to take in.

Overall, the PSR-60 The Next Stage is exceptionally well balanced. I would count it among the high-end rods dedicated to fishing a jighead on its own.
